Volcano Level Showcase

Today I'd like to finally show what a complete, or near complete, level will look like in Industrious Flair. With all of the visual assets finally done for it, I thought it'd be great to show off what the volcano level looks like in action.

As the intro says, most of the sound is just placeholder or unfinished; they're hastily put together for the video. (music is still original, it just isn't the quality that I want)
Audio's one aspect of game development that certainly isn't simple, so it's being put on the back burner for now.
Featured at the end of the video are many of the gun types that we've been working on. The idea is to have many times more than what's being shown at the moment. Even though the sword isn't shown, it still will be in the game. It just hasn't been integrated into the new weapon system.

Players should be given lots of freedom in deciding which weapons to use and when.

In the above video I show only one stage from the game, however there are many more that are being worked on and some almost complete, gameplay-wise. It's just that those stages don't have finished graphics, and in the mean time are mostly composed of green blocks and stolen backgrounds--not too appealing for a video.

Please be patient for more updates in the future.

Till then, I'm out.

  1. I like the way the game is looking but the camera seems to shift around too much. When the character make a series of short jumps, the camera shakes up and down really rapidly to follow him. It might be wise to not tie the camera so directly to the protagonists movements or simply move it back so it doesn't seem as drastic a movement when the whole screen shifts.

    1. Well, the camera actually doesn't track him 1:1 vertically. There is a bit of delay there, but perhaps it needs adjustment.
